FAQs
Have you played rugby?
Yes!
I've played rugby union for seven years. Firstly based in
Cambridge whilst at University, I played on the wing and scrum-half
for Great Shelford Ladies, a wonderful club with a fantastic
community. When I moved to London, I played for
Teddington RFC before I was injured. I'm now lucky enough to manage and coach the Teddington RFC junior girls.
When did you realise you had a strong passion for rugby?
I
grew up in Everdon, a small village in Northamptonshire and at the
age of six, my Dad started taking me to watch rugby matches with
close family friends. It was a regular outing on weekends and
we traveled to matches home and away.
I
attended Newnham Primary School and was lucky enough to participate
in rugby training sessions with Matt Dawson, Ben Cohen and Paul
Grayson.
When
Franklins Gardens underwent expansion
and improvement, I asked to
do a school project on Northampton Saints, and that's when I
knew my passion for rugby was real.
The
project was found in a box recently and ...Nineteen years later - I
haven't looked back!
When
did you decide to become a rugby blogger?
I
decided to do a trial run at a Harlequins home match in September 2013 against Northampton Saints. It was pouring in
rain, the conditions were treacherous and I went armed with a notepad
and pen. It tested me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience,
and the challenge. I then gave it some thought and decided to
set up Rhiannon's Rugby Union
