A
fair assessment of this weekend’s sizzling 7s would be that Buenos
Aires took the tournament by storm and clinched the title of ‘World
Club 7s Winners 2014’ after a tantalising try-frenzy final against
Auckland.
The
Argentinean side successfully scooped up 26 points to Auckland’s 22
to become victorious in their quest to grasp the title, having
finished third only twelve months prior.
After
the final, I spoke with the delightful Buenos Aires Coach, Diego
Albanese to talk about what it means to his side to be playing at Twickenham;
"We just told them, maybe come to Twickenham for us...it's maybe a once in your life opportunity, and there is no pressure."
"It's about enjoying, it's about saying look I'm at Twickenham and I have to give my best"

For
Auckland, the defeat was déjà vu; they’d been within touching
distance of becoming tournament winners in the dying seconds of last
years final. But with that aside, I spoke with hat-trick scorer and
tournament sensation Mitch Karpik after the game to discuss his own
personal experience, competing at the World Club 7s
And
to round off the tournament, no 7s would be complete without speaking
to the fastest man in rugby, the one and only …. Mr Carlin Isles!
We chatted about his time at Glasgow Warriors, 7s vs 15s and then as
special request - could he show me his try scoring celebratory dance
moves?
Well
that went down a storm and I am delighted to say I was a part of a
wonderful weekend of World Club 7s.
